Mayflower: News

Glass Fence is now Mayflower! The band is now composed solely of C. Shane Sweet and Derek James.

We basically have been moving in a new direction musically, creatively. We've been working with David Weisberg (Grammy Award Winning Producer, Garden State Soundtrack) which has been really cool because he helps us to tighten things up and really get the most out of the songs, which is really amazing compared to the "hurry up, record, and get out scenarios we've had before."


Release is expected sometime in early '09, and shows are expected in early '09 in the Los Angeles are as well.

Glass Fence has been working very hard for the last couple months booking shows in new places and getting radio play on new stations and expanding their audience. They are very excited to be on the road which they will be leaving mid June and not returning until October! We will miss them so to get in contact message them at the myspace and read their interviews/reviews on local stations they will have a list of places to hear and see them very shortly so stay tuned!

So we have officially stopped working on New Order of the Ages, thank God!!!!! It's sounds really good though and we are way stoked on it. It should become officially released in May. We also have new merch available on our site here at the merch page which is also new! Check stuff out and let us know what you think!

Glass Fence has finished recording their EP a couple weeks ago and is putting some finishing touches on the artwork and Merchandise as well as minor finishes to the CD and then it will be released very soon after. As soon as it is on sale you will be well informed!!! So stay tuned.

We have just finished recording "New Order of the Ages" at Love Juice Labs in Riverside, CA. We are looking at a May 28th Release Date with a corresponding show, but CD's will be available before then only at Glass Fence shows! Feel free to check out the songs now here on our music page or at our MySpace.

So we are totally stoked to be going into the studio this month and should have some new music by early April! We will be recording at Love Juice Labs in Riverside and will be recording a lot of NEW material that will be branching out into new terrain. Basically, we are trying some new crap and seeing if it works, I'm sure ya all will let us know either way!!!

That's pretty much what's been up. We decided to abandon the old name, The Celestial Matinee, being that it was quite a mouthful and easy to mispell.
We have a new bassist in Derek Brown, he's tight!
We will be in the studio mid-March recording some new sugary goodness.
We are booking California area shows as we speak! Also, we've begun planning for a summer tour that can't get here soon enough!
